Mauao / Mount Maunganui
Choose whether you want to walk around the base of the Mount, explore rock pools and take in the stunning scenery or walk up to the very top.
The base track walk takes 45 minutes and the walk to the summit 40 minutes.
Papamoa Hills Regional Park
Papamoa Hills Regional Park is frequented by a wide range of park users each year. The Regional Park walks take visitors through farmland with stunning coastal views of the Bay of Plenty. Choose which walking track to take depending on your preference, there are also a number of historic pa sites within the park.

McLaren Falls is a popular recreational area in Tauranga for visitors and locals alike. The park is situated on 190 hectares of lakeland park with a large botanical collection of trees.

Tauranga CBD to Mount Maunganui Walkway
Take a walk along The Strand in central Tauranga along the waterfront. Paddle in the tidal steps or stop for a drink or something to eat from one of the many local restaurants and eateries.
This walk has many historical points of interest including Elms Mission House, the oldest building in Tauranga. There are walking and cycling paths across the harbour bridge to Mount Maunganui, and a rail bridge to Matapihi.

Ohauiti Reserve Walkway
Location: McFetridge Lane / Ohauiti Road, Tauranga
The Ohauiti Reserve walkway features bushwalks, floodplains and open grasslands. Parts of the reserve can flood during heavy rain so care should be taken after or during heavy rain events.
Inner City Tauranga Reserves and Walkways
Large recreational spaces and reserves located close to the Tauranga CBD include Fergusson Park and Kulim Parks in Matua and Otumoetai. These are popular picnic ares and offer safe paddling areas with views of Matakana Island and the inner Tauranga harbour.
